      Haha, sometimes!

In my microbiology work, I use bacteria often associated with something called periodontitis (if you don’t brush your teeth, you get plaque build up, and then if it gets worse, your gums become red and eventually start to die off. This is periodontitis. There is a species of bacteria called Porphyromonas gingivalis (P ging) that is normally found in this area, and when you grow it, it stinks!!!

If you think really bad breath, and then multiply it by a hundred..thats what this smells like when you grow it in the lab!!

There are a few other smelly bugs that I work with too, and thats the worst bit to be honest!

Luckily I’m not too squeamish, I have to do rat dissection sometimes which can be a little gross.
