The engineering process from idea generation to a useful application. I find it interesting that the products and services we use are the result of smart thinking and practical application.

My favourite thing is making something that can change someone’s life.
It happened at work, I made a product and one of my users told me: you have changed my life! I can now run a full marathon without stopping.
It is great to make things that really work.

The enjoyment of seeing things from just ideas, coming through to fruition.

I make 3D living models of cells that represent the roof of your mouth, and to be able to do that and use it in experiments that could one day change how we treat infections is pretty cool to think about 🙂

Its hard work, but very worthwhile!

Engineering is all about problem solving. You know the theory and apply this to solve problems in your day to day job. I really enjoy this problem solving especially within the design process.

I really like being the person who has done something for the first time. Coming up with new ideas and then seeing them work is super cool!

I also really like getting to work with lots of different people from all over the world and getting to travel to different countries.

My favourite thing about being an engineer is having the ability to create something that will be meaningful to someone else. Helping others is the most rewarding part of my job.
