Question: when do you see your artifical kidneys being put to use in real people

That is a long way off yet. Kidney tissue engineering is in the very early stages, my research focuses on answering some initial questions.

In the nearer future it is much more likely that tissue engineered kidneys cells might be used in discovering new drugs. They could be more reliable and ethical than using animals.
