• Question: Why did you decide to look at the disease osteoporosis and not just broken bones ?

      Hi 534arth35,

      That’s a really good question.

      Well mostly because osteoporosis affects millions of people worldwide. It is quite common in older people in the UK and other countries. This disease also has the potential to make patients more at risk to things like breaking their bones.

      So while trying to fix things like fractures is important there are actually more fractures caused by osteoporosis than by things like sports injuries. Therefore if we can fix out how to stop osteoporosis then at the same time we help to reduce fracture numbers – cool hey?
