      Hi Babygroot,

I work on a number of different projects with lots of different parts of the human body. I think that means that my work has a really good potential of improving lots of people’s quality of life. Hopefully that’s a good reason to vote for me 🙂

      Hey Babygroot!

My project is, like Sophie’s, multi-disciplinary. Not only does it cover tissue engineering of a model to help understand and better treat infections, it can be adapted to make different tissues, like skin. This opens up a new world of possibilities and different healthcare issues we can tackle.

I’m also heavily involved in microbiology, and understanding the interactions of the bugs that I use is just as important as the tissue model itself. This again his wide-ranging impact and lots of potential for the future and other infections. Thirdly, I look at immune cell responses, and how the body combats these infections. Hopefully we’ll make steps to better resolving the infection that I’m interested in… but theres still a long way to go! The unique aspect is that nobody has looked at bacteria and fungi interactions specifically in this disease, or how they cause the disease!

As for the money, I’d use that to go to schools with an interactive microbiology workshop which I’ve been developing. It’s fun, and there are prizes for the workshop stations too!! Maybe we could come to you!

      Hi babygroot!

There are not many Materials Engineers out there and it is not a job that a lot of people know about. It is great and I would like to have more people interested on it. And remember, everything is made out of some form of material!

For this, I have realised when I was baking that there is a lot of materials science and engineering that I can explain with flour, sugar and eggs, because baking has a lot of similarities with Materials Engineering.

So… wouldn’t it be great to learn about materials whilst cooking or baking?

      Hi Babygroot,

I would love for you to vote for my project because it will enable kids like you, to have fun and interact with pieces of technology (like robotic arms) that otherwise wouldn’t be able to. This will generate interest in science, artificial body, robotics, and engineering in general!

I think that VR applications are pretty cool so i’d like an excuse to put some time aside to make one!
